Distractions :

The main reason I decided to stop taking my phone to class is that it was a major source of distraction. During class, I would often receive notifications from social media or messaging apps, and I would feel compelled to check them right away. Even if I resisted the urge to check my phone, the notification itself was enough to disrupt my concentration.

Furthermore, even if I wasn't receiving notifications, I found that my mind would wander if my phone was within reach. I would start thinking about all the things I could be doing on my phone instead of paying attention to the lecture. This was especially true during boring or tedious lectures, when my mind was already struggling to stay engaged.

By leaving my phone at home or in my bag during class, I eliminate this source of distraction. I am able to focus on the lecture and participate more fully in class discussions. This not only helps me learn more effectively, but it also shows respect for my professor and classmates by demonstrating that I value their time and contributions to the class.

Increased Engagement :

Another benefit of leaving my phone behind is that it has increased my engagement in class. Without my phone to distract me, I am more likely to participate in class discussions and ask questions. I feel more present in the moment and more invested in the material.
